Kwanzaa Kinara
Locally hand-crafted in Atlanta, GA.
The kinara is the centerpiece of the Kwanzaa celebration, symbolizing the African roots of the holiday. It holds seven candles, representing the Nguzo Saba, or the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa, which guide the community in unity, self-determination, and collective work. Lighting the candles each night during Kwanzaa honors these principles and encourages reflection on cultural heritage and values.
Five styles to choose from:
- Ankh: A symbol of life and spiritual immortality from ancient Egypt.
- Gye Nyame: An Adinkra symbol from Ghana meaning "Except for God," representing the supremacy of God.
- Africa: The shape of the continent, symbolizing heritage and unity.
- "KWANZAA": Represents the celebration of African-American culture, community, and the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa.
- Plain: A minimalist option focusing solely on the candles and traditional kinara design.
